Luna Bear update

Duck watching today

Luna Bear missed out on a lot of socialisation when she was younger. She used to get very excited and over aroused and even frustrated when she saw other dogs. While it is tempting to try to socialise a dog with other dogs when they are frustrated, it wont always end well if the dog charges in over aroused. Instead, we are helping Luna see other dogs and quietly observe and move on.

Luna was also very wary of traffic - any vehicle passing caused her to spin round and stare at it, looking rather worried. We have worked up to walking down the pavement of busier roads now and she completely ignored all the traffic and investigated all the new smells.

Another road trip and another new place - a big park with lots of ducks wandering around! It backs on to a big supermarket too with lots of cars and people.

Luna hasn't been playing the pattern games very long but already she has learned she can quietly and calmly observe new things in the environment. Here is a little video clip of her calmly watching and listening to cars and people in the supermarket.

Luna is such a fast learner and truly a delight to be with. She is happy to lie down calmly and relax in your company too. Whoever adopts her will be very very lucky.
